Terms of service
These terms are between your shop and PayZuri, run by Etienne Maway in Uganda. By using PayZuri you agree to them. If something here is unclear, ask us on WhatsApp at +256 758 092 320 before you start.
1. The service
PayZuri is point-of-sale and stock software for your shop. It runs on phones, Android POS terminals and Windows or Mac computers, and keeps selling when the internet is down. Hardware such as printers, scanners and cash drawers is not included unless we agree otherwise in writing.
2. Price and payment
- US$50 per shop per month, for up to five tills (devices) in that shop. No fee per sale and no setup fee.
- You pay monthly, in advance. Some early shops have a free period agreed with us in writing; it is billed from the date that period ends.
- We will tell you at least 30 days before any price change.
- If a payment is more than 14 days late, we will remind you, then we may pause selling on your account. Your data is kept and you can still get a copy of it.
3. Stopping
You can stop at any time. The service runs to the end of the month you have paid for; we don't refund part-months. When you stop, we give you a copy of your data if you ask, then delete it as described in our privacy policy.
4. Your data
Your products, prices, stock, sales and customer details belong to your shop. We use them only to provide PayZuri to you, as set out in the privacy policy.
5. Your responsibilities
- PINs and devices. Give each staff member their own PIN, keep PINs private, and tell us quickly if a device is lost or stolen so we can remove it.
- Mobile Money. PayZuri records Mobile Money payments manually: the cashier checks the shop's own phone and confirms the reference, the amount and that the money arrived. That check is done by a person. Only hand over goods once the money is in the shop's account. We are not responsible for a payment a cashier confirmed that turns out to be false or reversed.
- Taxes and the law. You are responsible for your shop's taxes, receipts required by the tax authority, and the goods you sell.
- Fair use. Don't try to break into the service, reach other shops' data, or use PayZuri for anything illegal.
6. Our responsibilities
- Keep your data safe and separate from other shops, and back it up every night.
- Fix problems you report as quickly as we reasonably can, and keep PayZuri up to date at no extra cost.
- Give notice before planned maintenance when we can. Your devices keep selling during it and sync afterwards.
7. Limits
We work hard to keep PayZuri running and correct, but no software is perfect and we can't promise it will never be interrupted. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profit, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the problem.
8. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date above and tell you at least 30 days before an important change takes effect.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
